On my 12th birthday I got as a present a small babyblue shoebox from our neighbor, a teacher for women's gymnastics. Inside I found a pair of wooden exercise sandals with red leatherstraps. She herself had the same model in white. I loved these sandals from the very first moment and I could never abandon them any more. I even weared them off to the utter limit, until the wood became so thin and fragile, that I got afraid, they could possibly break. At present I am living a happy bucolic life fully enjoying the countryside and the advantages of nature. One of the things, I like most here, is to walk barefoot, whenever possible. That's why I love my wooden sandals so much. They come pretty close to walking barefoot, maybe they even feel a little better. Because of the nice little claps they give while slapping against my feet, I personally use to call them clappers. When girlfriends visit me in the countryside, often the first thing they do, is to kick off their shoes and slip into a pair of my clappers. So we often spend a great barefoot time in clappers together. It's actually a little crazy: here they are all excited to wear my clappers, but at the same time they would not wear them in the city. The reason is supposedly their oldfashioned image. So girls love to wear exercise sandals, but ironically don't want to be seen in them. Maybe my homepage can help reversing this a little.
